Saving your progress

Games save as you play: best scores, an unfinished game, stars, missions and your daily streak. The saves stay in the browser you played in, on that device. There is no account to create and nothing to sign in to.

A private or incognito window starts without saves and loses them when it closes. Clearing the site data for Gamivu in your browser settings removes them as well.

Moving your progress to another device

Your progress can be moved to another device with a code. Until you move it, a phone and a computer keep separate saves, and so do two browsers on the same computer.

Daily challenges

Games with a daily mode have one challenge a day that is the same for every player, and a new one starts at 00:00 UTC. When you finish it, the game shows what share of that day's players you scored better than.

Finishing a daily challenge in any game on consecutive days builds your daily streak. Skip a day and the streak starts again from one.

Stars, missions and hard mode

Each run comes with up to three goals, shown on the game's title screen. Every goal you meet is a star, and the game keeps your best result. Missions are longer goals that add up over many runs. Hard mode opens once you meet the condition written on the title screen.

Languages

The site is available in 20 languages and every game in 20 languages. A game opens in the language of the page you start it from. Change the language from the menu at the top of the page; your choice is remembered on this device.

Playing on a phone or tablet

Every game works on a touch screen. After you press Play, the Fullscreen button gives the game the whole screen and, where the browser allows it, turns the screen to the orientation the game is laid out for.

To open Gamivu like an app, choose Add to Home Screen in your browser's menu (on iPhone it is in the Share menu).

Keyboard and sound

Most games can be played with a keyboard, and each game's How to play tab lists its keys. Esc or P pauses a game. The sound switch in a game's menu applies to every game on this device.

Putting a game on your site

Every game page has an Embed button next to Share. It gives you a code to paste into your page's HTML, with a choice of size and language and a preview of the result. The game appears with a thin Gamivu bar underneath and a link to its page here.

Progress in an embedded game is kept separately for each site, apart from gamivu.com. The Sync devices button in that bar moves it between them with a code.

When a game will not start

• Reload the page first.
• Use a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Browsers that have not been updated since 2020 cannot run the games.
• If a 3D game stays black, turn on hardware acceleration (sometimes called graphics acceleration) in your browser settings and restart the browser.

Cost

Every game is free, and there is nothing to buy inside the games.
