Privacy
There are no accounts on Gamivu. Your scores, progress, favorites and settings stay in your browser. Our server receives only play statistics and the scores of daily challenges you finish, sent with a random device id that is not linked to your name; a temporary copy of your saves when you create a sync code; and what you send through a form. The table below lists each item, where it is kept and for how long, and the delete my data page erases what is tied to your browser in one click.
What we collect
| Data | Where | Why | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Game saves (best score, unfinished game, missions, stars, daily streak) | In your browser, written by the game itself | Picking up where you left off, seeing your record | Until you clear it; leaves the browser only in a sync code you create |
| Language choice | In your browser (cookie) | Opening pages in your language | Until you clear it |
| Game sound settings (sound off, volume) | In your browser, shared by all games | Games open with the sound the way you left it | Until you clear it; never included in a sync code |
| Whether the Gamivu opening animation has played | In your browser, for this tab only | The animation plays once per tab, not before every game | Until the tab is closed |
| Display preferences (theme, accent color, hidden bottom bar) | In your browser | Opening the site the way you set it up | Until you clear it; leaves the browser only in a sync code you create |
| Favorites, recently played and recent searches | In your browser | Getting back to your games in one click | Until you clear it; leaves the browser only in a sync code you create |
| This device's like/dislike votes on games, the ids of the comments you wrote and your last nickname (gamivu.topluluk) | In your browser | Remembering which games you voted on and commented on, opening the comment box with your last nickname | Until you clear it; never included in a sync code and never moved to another device |
| Random device id (pseudonymous) | Generated in your browser, sent with play statistics, daily scores, votes and game requests | Counting plays, ranking daily scores and counting one vote per device | Not linked to your name or an account; on our server it stays with the rows below, and the delete my data page erases them at once |
| Play events | On our server (with the device id; for a game played through the embed code on another site, that site's domain too) | The real numbers printed on pages and quality filtering | Raw rows kept 90 days after the summary is built |
| Daily challenge scores (score, time, run summary) | On our server (with the device id) | Showing where your score ranks among that day's players | Deleted after 14 days |
| Sync code contents (favorites, recently played, recent searches, game saves, daily streak, theme and color) | On our server under a short code, with no device id and no IP address | Moving your progress to another device, only when you create a code | Deleted 24 hours after the code is created |
| Contact form messages (topic, message, chosen game, reply address if given, browser version for bug reports) | On our server | Reading and answering your message | Deleted after 180 days |
| Game requests (idea, details, genre, email if given, device id) | On our server; the idea is shown on the request page only after review | Listing requested games and telling you when yours is released | Email and device id deleted 30 days after the release, or after 365 days; requests never approved are deleted after 365 days |
| Votes on game requests (device id) | On our server | Counting each device once per request | As long as the request is listed, or until you delete your data |
| Like/dislike votes on games (device id, vote, time) | On our server; the page shows only the total and the percentage; no IP address | Counting one vote per device per game and showing the like percentage | As long as the game is in the catalog, or until you delete your data |
| Comments (nickname, text, page language, device id, time) | On our server; the nickname and text appear on the page only after the operator approves them; no IP address | Showing player comments on a game's page | An approved comment stays as long as the game is in the catalog, or until you delete your data; a rejected or hidden comment is deleted after 30 days |
| Comment reports (which device reported which comment) | On our server; no IP address | Showing the operator comments flagged as abusive | Deleted together with the comment, at most 90 days |
| Comment ban (device id) | On our server; no IP address | Keeping new comments from a device that broke the rules from being published | Lifted after 365 days, or when you delete your data |
| IP address | Not stored in our database | Only short-lived counters that limit repeated requests | Minutes |
| Error reports (game or page, shortened error message, version, page language) | In our server's error log, with no IP address and no device id | Finding and fixing broken games | Deleted within 15 days |
What we do not collect
- Name, phone or postal address; an email address only if you type one into a form
- Accounts and passwords: there is no sign up
- Location
- Your IP address, alongside any of the data above
Inside the games
Every game loads from our own servers. The games contain no trackers, analytics or cookies from other companies. When ads are on, the only outside content in a game is a Google ad at a break between rounds, described under Ads below.
Ads
Gamivu shows no ads right now. When ads are turned on, Google will show them on site pages and at breaks between rounds inside games (AdSense and H5 Games Ads). Google may then use cookies and similar identifiers to show ads, cap how often you see them and measure them. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you are asked for consent before any personalized ad is shown. How Google uses this data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Yandex Metrica
We use Yandex Metrica, a visit counter operated by YANDEX LLC (Russia), to see which pages and games people use and where pages confuse them, so we can improve the site; no advertising profile is built from this data. It records the pages you view, the page you came from, your clicks, your scrolling and your time on a page, and it also records the visit as a replay. It does not run inside the games.
Yandex Metrica is not loaded for visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, so none of its cookies are set for them. In your own browser you can block or delete its cookies, or install the Yandex Metrica opt-out browser add-on (yandex.com/support/metrica/general/opt-out.html).
Moving to another device
The Sync devices button on the Favorites page creates a short code. The code carries your favorites, recently played games, recent searches, game saves, daily streak, theme and color; the device id stays with each device. The copy on our server holds no name, account, device id or IP address, and it is deleted 24 hours after the code is created. Anyone who has the code in that time can load the copy, so use it only between your own devices.
Legal basis
- Legitimate interest (keeping the site running, the numbers on it accurate and the games working): play statistics, daily scores, votes, the short-lived counters that limit repeated requests, and error reports.
- Your request: contact messages, game requests and the email you leave for a release notice, sync codes, and the settings and saves kept in your browser.
- Consent, where the law requires it: cookies and similar identifiers used for ads, and personalized ads.
Service providers and transfers
- Contabo GmbH, Germany: hosts the site and its database.
- Cloudflare, Inc., United States: delivers the pages, runs DNS and security filtering, and forwards email sent to our address.
- Google, only while ads are on: shows ads on site pages and inside games (AdSense and H5 Games Ads).
- Yandex (YANDEX LLC), Russia: runs the Yandex Metrica visit counter, not loaded for EEA, UK and Switzerland visitors.
Cloudflare and Google may process data outside your country, including in the United States. For these transfers they rely on standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Your data and your rights
The delete my data page first erases the play records, daily scores, request votes, like/dislike votes on games, comments (including approved ones), comment reports and comment ban tied to your device id on our server and removes that id from game requests you sent, then clears everything Gamivu keeps in this browser. Otherwise, play records are deleted after 90 days and daily scores after 14 days. Contact form messages are deleted after 180 days; to have one deleted sooner, ask in a new message from the same reply address. A vote is withdrawn by pressing the vote button again.
Delete my dataTo see, correct or delete other data about you, or to object to its use, write to the contact address below and include what helps us find the record, such as the reply address you used. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country. In Turkey, the rights in Article 11 of the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK, No. 6698) apply, and requests go to the same address.
Children
Gamivu is not directed at children under 13, or under the higher age, up to 16, that some EEA countries set for online services. If you think a child has sent us personal data through a form, write to us and we will delete it.
