Starting a game with a friend
- 65games
- 20languages
Open any game on this list and press "Play with a friend" on its title screen. The game creates a room and gives you a link; send it any way you like, and the friend who opens it sits down across the table. Every game here is free to play in the browser, with no download and no account on either side, and each of you can be on a phone, a tablet or a computer. The room is the same game whatever language it is opened in, so a friend who reads the site in Spanish joins your room in Spanish while you play in English.
From two seats to six
Istaka Okey,
Mizan Spades and
Vesper Hearts are played by four, and two people are enough to start: bots take the empty seats, and a friend who opens the link later takes over a seat a bot is playing.
Haveli Ludo seats two, three or four people, including two against two.
Dacha Durak takes two to six players, with bots in the empty seats, and
Shisham Carrom seats two face to face or four in doubles.
The rest are head to head:
Boxwood Chess,
Zarif Backgammon, Sedef Checkers, Onyx Reversi, Trellis Four in a Row, Cowrie Mancala, Juniper Gin Rummy, Kordon Pishti and Baize Pool. Hinoki Go and Kenning Word Guess take turns on one shared board, while Glissade Air Hockey, Spindle Table Tennis and Mettle Fighting are played in real time. Rosewood Xiangqi is a head-to-head duel, Quire Word Search and Sorrel Word Wheel are races on one shared page or wheel, and in Cassia Cooking you and a friend cook the same nine tickets, each on your own stove. Burl Bowling seats two to four bowlers, who take a whole frame each in turn, and Ikat Dot Connect is a race: you and a friend fill the same board and the first to fill it takes it. Furrow Farm is cooperative: two farmers share one farm, each spends two jobs a day in turn, and you both win if it reaches its coin goal. Meltemi Volleyball is a real-time duel, Lanyard Swing a race down the same route with your friend's courier as a ghost, and Azimuth Geography a race to find the same places on your own maps.
Postern Escape Room is the second cooperative game on this list: you and a friend take one side each of the same room, each sees only your own half of every lock and describes it to the other, and you win together by turning two keys at the same moment. A bot takes over a side when its player drops, and the player takes it back with the same link. Clave Rhythm is a score race: you both play the same chart at the same moment and the higher score wins. Astragal Merge Dice takes turns on one shared board, and Bonce Football is a real-time football duel where the headers you win charge a power shot. Bocage Land Grab is a real-time land grab for two to six people in one arena, with the game's rivals filling the field. Trivet Tile Match is a race too: you both clear the same stacked board, over one, three or five boards, and a bot takes the seat of anyone who drops. Tantara Rhythm Runner is a one-tap race on one remix course, a short one or a long one: the first to the end wins, and a bot takes the seat of anyone who drops. Shale Falling Blocks is a real-time duel: you both get the same stones, every clear of two rows or more pushes rubble rows into the other well, and the first well to overflow loses the round. In Latch Maze Defense you both play the same map and the same waves on a shared clock, spending gold on your own maze or on squads sent to your rival's entrance, and whoever loses all lives first loses. Tincture Flag Quiz is a race too: you both answer the same 12 questions about flags and capitals, and the most right answers wins. In Ballast Hangman you share one word and take turns: a hit keeps your turn, a miss hangs a sandbag on your own balloon, and cutting loose is a free move. Spall Idle Clicker is a dig race: you both start from stage 1 under the same keystone rule and after three minutes the deeper dig wins; a bot digs on for anyone who drops. Faience Trivia is a trivia duel on one hex board: you take turns picking a tile, you both answer its question against one clock and the first right answer glazes it. Cinnabar Farkle is a dice duel to 5,000 or 10,000 points, with plain dice or charm dice: you take turns on the same tray and every roll comes from the room. Barchan Block Puzzle is a race on the same pieces: you both play 30 or 60 of them at the same time, each on your own board with your friend's board shown beside yours, and the higher score wins. Volant Orbit Jump is a one-tap race up the same course, a short one of 3 stages or a long one of 5, with your friend shown beside you as a ghost, and the first through the last gate wins; a bot climbs on for anyone who drops. Yarrow Arrow Puzzle is a race on the same boards: you both clear 4 or 8 of them at the same time, each on your own copy with your friend's board shown beside yours, and moves left at the end add to the score; a bot plays on for anyone who drops. Fettle Merge is cooperative too: you and a friend share one bench, one rail of tickets and one stock for a shift of 10 or 20 tickets, each sees the other's hand move, and the shift is won or lost together.
When someone leaves the table
If a player's connection drops, a bot plays their seat until they open the same link again and take it back; a seat that still belongs to someone is never handed to a newcomer. Players appear under a nickname the game gives them, and the chat is a set of ready phrases rather than free text, so nothing personal reaches the other side. After a match, a rematch starts once everyone at the table asks for one.
