About Astragal Merge Dice
Astragali were the knucklebones people threw long before cubes were carved. Eight old gaming halls keep their tables for you here, from an oak den to a gilded grand table, each with a trick of its own in the floor.
Drag dice onto the board and merge three of a face into the next one. Tip dice over to new faces. 96 levels in 8 halls, Endless, a daily board and duels.
How to play Astragal Merge Dice
Drag the piece from the tray onto the board, or tap an empty cell to drop it there; tap a domino to turn it. Three or more dice of the same face that touch side by side merge into one die of the next face, on the cell where the newest die landed, and a merge that meets more dice of its new face merges again as a chain. Three sixes blaze and clear every die in the square around them. Every die is a real cube: tap a die and then a free cell beside it, or swipe it, and it tips over into that cell and lands on the face a real die would show. Each roll costs one roll from your bank; a merge of four or more dice, every merge after the first in a chain and every blaze add one, up to five. Levels give a fixed set of pieces and a goal: make a face, blaze, level the towers, light the seals or reach a score. Endless runs until the piece in hand has no room.

Features
Dice that really roll
Tip any die over into the free cell beside it and it lands on a new face, as a real die would. Rolls are earned by merging four or more, by chains and by blazes.
96 levels in 8 halls
Each hall has its own table and dice and adds one mechanic: towers of stacked dice, brass rails, carved seals, fuse dice, mirrors and cups, all mixed on the Grand Table.
Endless and a daily board
Endless runs on a 5x5 board until the piece in hand has no room. The daily board gives everyone the same board and the same 60 pieces.
Duel a friend
Share a link and take turns on one board: your merges score for you, and a pair you leave open can score for your opponent.
Stars and hard mode
Every level has a silver and a gold line for pieces used. Hard mode hides the next piece, removes undo and keeps at most two rolls.
Tips
- Leave pairs of the same face with an empty cell beside them, so the next matching die can finish the group.
- Watch the strip under each die: it is the face a roll north brings up, and the faces on the other sides follow because opposite faces sum to seven.
- Save rolls for the moment the piece in hand has no room; one roll that completes a group often clears space for several turns.
- Merge where you want the new die to be: the merged die appears on the cell where the newest die landed, so drop the third die on the spot you need.
- Keep sixes together but away from the dice you still need: a blaze clears everything in the square around it.
Frequently asked questions
What happens when three sixes merge?
They blaze instead of making a seven: every die, tower layer and cinder in the 3x3 square around the blaze is cleared, and you earn a roll.
Which face does a die land on when I roll it?
The one a real die would show. Rolling north brings up the face that looked south, rolling east brings up the west face, and opposite faces always sum to seven. A die picked for a roll shows its new face in each free cell beside it.
Where does the merged die appear?
On the cell where the newest die of the group landed. In a chain it stays on that cell and keeps growing.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. Drag pieces with a finger, tap a domino to turn it, and tap or swipe a die to roll it. Progress is saved on your device.
How do I play against a friend?
Choose Play with a friend, pick the board size and pieces per player, and send the link. You take turns on one board and the higher score wins.
