Kaolin Mahjong

Kaolin is the white clay that porcelain is fired from. Each deal stacks a full set of 144 porcelain tiles into a new shape, and every set can be taken apart to the last pair if you find the right order.

Tap or click two identical tiles to remove them. Only free tiles can be taken: a tile is free when no tile lies on top of it and its left or right side is open. Tiles that are not free are shaded slightly darker, and tapping one outlines the tiles that hold it in place. Any flower matches any other flower and any season matches any other season. Matches made within four seconds of each other build a combo that multiplies the points, up to eight times. Hint shows a pair that keeps the board clearable where one exists and costs 20 points, Undo takes back a match for 25 points, and Shuffle rearranges the tiles left so they can be cleared again whenever their positions allow it; there is one shuffle per deal. Hint, Undo and Shuffle reset the combo, and a shuffle also clears the undo history. Clearing the board adds a time bonus and 250 points if the shuffle was not used. When no pair is open, a panel offers Shuffle or Undo; once the shuffle is used it offers Undo or End game, and the run ends only when you choose End game. Choose between Pagoda, Tower, Butterfly, Fortress, Bridge, Twin Peaks and Moon Gate; the daily challenge gives everyone the same layout and deal. Keys: H for a hint, Z to undo, S to shuffle. Clearing a board opens hard mode: no Hint, no Undo and no shuffle.
