About Yarrow Arrow Puzzle
On a fletcher's table at the edge of a yarrow meadow, every arrow waits its turn. Send the right one first and the rest follow it out across the grass, one after another.
Tap arrows off the board. A launch lights the arrows it frees; launch those free to chain and refill moves. 40 Journey stages and races.
How to play Yarrow Arrow Puzzle
Every arrow on the board points one way. Tap an arrow and it flies off the board in that direction, as long as nothing lies in its path to the edge; if another arrow is in the way, it bumps into it and stays. When an arrow leaves, every arrow whose path it was blocking lights up gold. Lit arrows launch for free and keep the chain going, and what they free lights up too. Any other tap costs one move: an arrow that was already free before the chain started, or a bump. Every third arrow you chain gives back a move, up to ten. Clear the board and the next one arrives with two extra moves; boards grow and get trickier as the run goes on. The run ends when you are out of moves and nothing is lit. Hold your finger or the mouse on an arrow to see its path; a gold spark marks the arrows its launch would free. Journey mode has 40 single boards in five places, each with a fixed number of moves; finish with moves to spare for more stars. On a keyboard, the arrow keys move between arrows and Enter or Space launches the one you are on.

Features
Chains that refill your moves
An arrow's launch lights every arrow it frees, and lit arrows launch for free. Every third arrow in a chain gives back a move, up to ten.
A path preview, not an answer
Hold an arrow to see its path to the edge and a spark on each arrow its launch would free. Whether the path is clear is still yours to read.
Endless boards
Boards grow from 5x5 to 10x9 with up to about 40 arrows, and a cleared board adds two moves. The run lasts as long as your moves do.
Journey: 40 stages
Five places from Yarrow Meadow to Lantern Night, eight boards each, in squares, notched boards, diamonds, rings and crosses. Each stage gives a fixed number of moves; finish with the most moves left for three stars.
Race a friend
Send a link and race on the same 4 or 8 boards at the same time, each on your own copy, with your friend's board shown beside yours. Moves left at the end add to the score.
Daily arrows and hard mode
Once a day everyone plays the same boards. A chain of 12 unlocks hard mode: no spark preview, a bigger first board and one move per cleared board.
Tips
- Before you tap, look for the arrow whose launch frees the most others: the gold sparks on the path preview show them.
- Clear small corners first and save the arrow that opens the big tangle for last; one long chain scores far more than several short ones.
- A lit arrow costs nothing, so while anything glows, keep tapping lit arrows; an unlit tap ends the chain.
- Every third chained arrow refills a move, so a chain of 7 pays back two moves.
- When you are down to your last move, only tap an arrow you are sure is free: a bump with nothing lit ends the run.
Frequently asked questions
Why did my tap cost a move?
Only lit arrows are free. Tapping an arrow that was already free before the current chain began, or one that bumps into another arrow, costs one move and ends the chain.
What does a lit arrow mean?
It was blocked until an arrow in front of it left, and its path is clear now. Lit arrows stay lit while the chain lasts, so you can launch them in any order.
How do I get moves back?
Every third arrow you chain refills one move, and each cleared board in an endless run adds two. The meter holds ten at most.
When is the run over?
When you have no moves left and no arrow is lit. With no moves left you can still launch any lit arrow.
How do Journey stars work?
Clearing a stage gives one star. Finishing with no more than one move fewer than the best possible finish gives two, and matching the best finish gives three. A place opens when you win five stages of the place before it.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. Tap an arrow to launch it; hold it to see its path first, and slide your finger off to cancel. It works upright and sideways.
