GAMIVU

Accessibility

This page describes what works today and where the gaps are. It was last reviewed on September 25, 2026.

The site

  • Every page works with a keyboard alone. The first Tab stop skips to the page content, and the focused element always has a visible ring.
  • Text has a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against its background in both the dark and the light theme. With increased contrast turned on in your system, lines and secondary text get stronger.
  • With reduced motion turned on in your system, the site's animations are switched off and nothing stops working.
  • Pages can be zoomed, and pinch zoom is never blocked.
  • Menus and the navigation drawer close with Esc and return focus to the button that opened them.
  • Buttons and links are at least 24 by 24 pixels, and the main actions at least 40.
  • Arabic pages are laid out from right to left.
  • The theme can be dark, light or follow your system, from the button at the top of the page.

The games

Every game can be paused with Esc or P, has a sound switch in its menu and can be played full screen. Each game has a portrait and a landscape layout, and its How to play tab lists the controls.

Playable with a keyboard alone

Need a mouse or a touch screen

In these games the keyboard covers shortcuts such as undo and hint, but picking up cards, tiles and pieces needs a pointer.

Known gaps

  • The play area of a game is drawn as an image, so a screen reader cannot read the cards, tiles or positions on the board. Game menus and the site around the game can be read.
  • Reduced motion switches off the animations of game menus, but not the movement inside the play area.
  • Action games have no setting to slow them down.
  • Sounds have no text alternative.
