About Alcove FreeCell
Four alcoves are cut into the wall of an old card room, each wide enough for a single card. Every deal on the table can be finished; whether you finish it depends on what you park in the alcoves and when you take it back.
FreeCell solitaire with eight cascades and four free cells. Every deal can be won; unlimited undo, hints and a daily deal that is the same for everyone.
How to play Alcove FreeCell
All 52 cards are dealt face up into eight cascades. Build the four foundations up by suit from Ace to King. On the cascades, stack cards down in alternating colours; any card can fill an empty cascade. Each of the four free cells holds one card. An ordered run moves together when there is room to carry it: one card plus one for each empty free cell, doubled for each empty cascade other than the one it moves into. Tap a card to send it to the best legal place (a foundation, then a matching cascade, then a free cell), or drag a card or a run exactly where you want it. Cards that no other card could still need go up to the foundations by themselves. Undo has no limit, Replay starts the same deal again (Undo brings you back), and Hint points out a good next move, one that leads to a win whenever the game has found one. If the position can no longer be won, the game says so and offers Undo or End game. Give up ends the game after a second tap to confirm. Keys: Z or Backspace to undo, H for a hint. Points: 10 for each card on a foundation, 2 off every 10 seconds, and a win adds a bonus that is larger the faster you finish and the fewer moves you make. A win opens hard mode: no Undo, no Replay and no Hint.

Features
Eight cascades, four cells
All 52 cards deal into eight cascades with four free cells to park cards in. Build the four foundations up from Ace to King to clear the board.
Every deal is winnable
Every layout the game deals has a way to finish it. If a position ever stops being winnable, the game says so and offers Undo or End game.
Unlimited undo and hints
Undo has no limit, and Hint points to a move that leads to a win whenever the game has found one.
Daily deal
The daily deal is the same layout for every player that day, so your score and time line up against everyone else's.
Hard mode
Win once to unlock hard mode: the same rules with no Undo, no Replay and no Hint.
Tips
- Keep free cells empty as long as you can: every empty cell adds one more card to the longest run you can move at once.
- An empty cascade is worth more than a free cell, because it doubles the length of run a single move can carry.
- Dig out Aces and Twos first: until a suit's low cards reach the foundation, none of its higher cards can follow.
- Before parking a card in a free cell, know where it goes next; a cell holding a card with no way out is a cell lost for the rest of the game.
Frequently asked questions
How do I win at FreeCell?
Send every card to its foundation from Ace to King in the same suit. Dig out your Aces and low cards first, and keep at least one free cell or empty cascade open so you can move longer runs.
Can every deal in Alcove FreeCell actually be won?
Yes. If a position becomes unwinnable partway through, the game tells you right away and offers Undo or End game instead of leaving you to find out on your own.
How many free cells and cascades does it have?
Four free cells and eight cascades, the standard FreeCell layout, with all 52 cards dealt face up at the start.
Does Alcove FreeCell save my progress?
Your game and best scores save on this device. To continue on another device, use the site's Sync devices feature and a code, no account needed.
Is there a daily FreeCell challenge?
Yes. Everyone gets the same deal each day, and your score and time are compared against other players' runs on that same deal.
What does hard mode change?
Hard mode opens after your first win. It's the same 52-card rules, just with Undo, Replay and Hint all turned off.
