About Hirsel Crowd Runner
Every harvest the hill villages run the old roads to their neighbours' gates, and the village that arrives with more people carries the banner home. Your crowd sets off from the meadow with ten runners and a banner; how many reach the far end is up to you.
Steer a crowd through number gates, split it to take both gates at once, and beat the rival crowd, fort or giant at the end. 50 stages, or race a friend.
How to play Hirsel Crowd Runner
Your crowd runs forward on its own. Drag left or right (or hold A and D, or the arrow keys) to steer it through the gates on the road: a gate adds to the crowd, takes runners away, multiplies it or divides it, and the whole crowd takes the gate its centre passes. Press Split (or Space) and the crowd parts into two halves, one on each side of the road, so each half goes through its own gate; press Join to bring them together again. A bigger crowd is wider, so obstacles, water and throwers catch more of it. At the end of the road the crowd meets the rival: a crowd that is bigger wins and loses as many runners as the rival had, a fort falls when one of its two doors breaks, and the straw giant falls only to a crowd bigger than its strength. The runners left climb the banner stairs; every step needs a share of them and raises the coin multiplier, up to five times. Coins buy upgrades between stages.

Features
Split the crowd
One press parts the crowd into two halves that each take their own gate, and one more joins them. Knowing when to split and when to stay together is what wins the late stages.
50 stages in five worlds
Meadow Road, Harbour Boardwalk, Quarry Hills, Snow Pass and Lantern Night bring planks over water, sliding gates, rolling boulders, throwers, rival bands and rally arches.
A different fight at the end
A rival crowd, a fort with two doors, the straw giant, a snow fort behind a last volley and the keep after two bands on the road.
Upgrades and banner stairs
The runners who win climb five steps worth up to five times the coins. Coins buy a bigger start, stronger plus gates, sure feet, clash strength and a coin purse.
Race a friend
Two crowds run the same road side by side and clash where the roads meet, best of three heats. Raid gates take runners from your rival.
Hard mode and a daily road
Clearing Meadow Road opens hard mode with rivals one fifth bigger. The daily road is the same for everyone and ranks your coins against the day's players.
Tips
- Split before a row where both gates add runners: two plus gates together give more than either one.
- Join before a multiplier: the whole crowd going through a times-two gate beats half of it going through.
- A plank's sign shows how many runners it carries. Split onto both planks when your crowd is bigger than one plank holds.
- At the fort, break both doors when each half can beat its door: the people inside join you and nobody is lost.
- Throwers knock out a set number per row on their side, so keep the crowd on the side with the smaller number.
Frequently asked questions
What does the split do?
It parts the crowd into two equal halves, one on each side of the road, so each half goes through the gate on its side. Join brings the halves back into one crowd. A crowd of one runner cannot split.
How is the clash decided?
The bigger force wins. Against a rival crowd you need more runners than they have, and you lose as many as they had. Clash strength upgrades let each runner count for a little more.
Why did my crowd lose runners on the planks?
Each plank carries only the number on its sign. Runners beyond that number are pushed into the water at half the overflow, so a big crowd should split onto both planks.
Can I play on a phone?
Yes. Drag anywhere to steer and tap the Split button at the bottom, or swipe up to split and down to join.
Is my progress saved?
Yes. Stars, coins and upgrades stay on this device, and the site's device sync can move them to another one.
How does playing with a friend work?
Create a room and send the link. Both crowds run the same road at the same speed and meet at the end; the bigger crowd wins the heat, and two heats win the match. If a player drops, the computer steers their crowd until they are back.
