About Spindle Table Tennis
Twenty players between you and the Grand Hall final, each with a habit: a looper who spins everything, a chopper whose floats look like backspin, a blocker who sends your pace back. Read the ball and every one of them has an answer.
3D table tennis where reading the spin wins points. Swipe for topspin, backspin or sidespin; 20 rivals in 5 venues, drills, daily match and online play.
How to play Spindle Table Tennis
The match is played from behind your end of the table and your paddle goes to the ball by itself; you choose when and how to hit. Swipe up for topspin, swipe down for backspin, tap for a flat hit, and bend the swipe to add sidespin. Where the swipe points is where the ball goes, and a longer swipe hits harder. Hit when the ball bounces on your side: a ring around it closes at the best moment. To serve, press to toss the ball and swipe as it falls; the serve must bounce once on your side and once on the other. The ball's trail shows its spin: orange is topspin (chop it or counter-loop it), blue is backspin (loop it), white is no spin (hit it flat) and green is sidespin (bend your swipe the other way). A right answer is a strong shot, faster and more forgiving, and three strong answers in a row make a power shot. A game goes to 11 and must be won by 2; the serve changes every 2 points, and every point from 10-10.

Features
Spin you can read
Topspin, backspin, sidespin and no spin each have their own trail colour and a strong answer. Three strong answers in a row make a power shot.
A tour of 20 rivals
Five venues with four players each, from a club hall to the Grand Hall final, best of 3 games and best of 5 in the final. Every rival plays a style: looper, chopper, blocker, pen-hold attacker, pusher or all-rounder.
Venues that change the game
Wind in the park that bends the ball, a cellar lit by one lamp, a fast table that skids the ball low, and a crowd for the final.
Four training drills
Spin reading, target practice, serve school and a counter rally against a robot, each with three stars to earn.
Real-time matches online
Send a link and play a friend in real time, best of 1, 3 or 5 games at any venue. If someone drops, a bot takes over their paddle.
Daily match and hard mode
One game to 11 against the same rival for everyone each day, ranked by score. Hard mode removes the spin colours and the timing ring, and rivals react faster.
Tips
- A flat hit on a backspin ball goes into the net. When the trail is blue, swipe up and lift it.
- Looping a ball with no spin sends it long. Choppers hide floats among their chops, so check for the white trail before you swipe.
- Against topspin, a downward chop is the safe strong answer; a counter-loop is stronger but needs the timing ring to be closed.
- Short swipes down make short pushes that bounce twice on the far side, which takes the loop away from attackers.
- Three strong answers in a row make a power shot. Keep your chain going rather than going for wide angles early in a rally.
Frequently asked questions
How do I put spin on the ball?
Swipe up for topspin and down for backspin, or tap for a flat hit with no spin. Bend the swipe as you make it to add sidespin: the ball curves the way your swipe bends.
What do the trail colours mean?
Orange is topspin, blue is backspin, white is no spin and green is sidespin. The line at the bottom of the screen names the spin and its strong answer while the ball comes at you.
Why did my shot go into the net?
Most often it was a flat hit on a backspin ball, or a stroke made too late, after the top of the bounce. Swipe up on blue trails and hit as the ring closes.
What are the serve rules?
Toss the ball from behind your end line and hit it as it falls. It must bounce once on your side and then on the other side; a serve that touches the net and lands right is a let and is played again. The serve changes every 2 points, and every point from 10-10.
Can I play with a friend?
Yes. Choose Play with a friend, send the link, and the match is played in real time on two devices. If your friend disconnects, a bot plays for them until they come back.
Is my progress saved?
Yes, on this device: rivals beaten, stars, drill results and missions stay, and the site's device sync can move them to another device.
