Parquet Basketball

Parquet follows one shooter from a chain net in a schoolyard to the glass of a sold-out final: a rooftop in the evening wind, a hoop on a rail along the boardwalk, a warehouse with a man who jumps at everything, fog on a mountain court, a pier that moves with the sea. Every court has a local who has shot there for years and will play you for it.

Basketball shooting game: drag up to shoot real arcs off rim and glass. Twelve courts with wind, moving hoops, defenders and fog, plus H-O-R-S-E.

Press anywhere in the lower part of the screen, drag up and let go. The length of the drag sets the power and leaning it to one side aims left or right; while you drag, white dots show the first part of the arc and a bar beside the ball shows the power, with a gold mark where your last shot was. On a keyboard, the arrow keys aim and holding Space fills the power bar; release to shoot. A make is worth 2 points, 3 from beyond the arc; a swish (nothing but net) and a bank shot off the glass add 1 each, and after three makes in a row you are on fire and every make counts double until you miss. Gold balls count double too. The career has twelve courts of three stages: spots (a set number of balls), clock (as many points as you can in the time), streak (the longest run of makes), racks (five balls a rack, the last one gold) and a game of H-O-R-S-E against that court's shooter. Each stage gives up to three stars; clear all three stages to open the next court. In H-O-R-S-E the setter picks a spot on the court map; if the shot drops, the other player must make the same shot or take a letter, and five letters lose. The modes add a 60 second clock run, a three-point contest with five racks on the arc and one all-gold rack of your choice, and a ladder of six 1v1 shooters. Clearing the Schoolyard or winning a 1v1 opens hard mode: no aiming dots, stronger wind, faster hoops and rivals two levels up.
