About Lanthorn Platformer
The beacons along the Beacon Road went dark in a single night, from the thistle downs to the star observatory on the last peak. You are the lamplighter, with a lantern, a wide hat and a long red coat, walking the road to light them again while its creatures and old machines do their best to stop you.
Precision platformer: 60 levels and 5 hidden ones in five worlds, wall jumps and a dash, five bosses, three gems per level, medal times and a daily level.
How to play Lanthorn Platformer
Run with the arrow keys or A and D, jump with Space, Z or the up arrow; hold jump longer to jump higher, and hold down while jumping to drop through a thin ledge. On a phone, hold the left pad to run and use the jump button on the right. A gamepad works too: stick or d-pad to run, A to jump, X to dash, Start to pause. Each level runs from the start to the end beacon. One touch of spikes, lava, a saw or a creature's side is a fall, and you start again at the last beacon you lit, with the gems you already picked up kept. Land on most creatures from above to knock them out; thornbacks and sparks carry spikes and cannot be stomped. World 2 adds the wall jump: hold towards a wall to slide down it and jump to kick off, and jump while pressing into a wall to climb it. World 3 adds the dash: X, J or Shift sends you in a quick burst towards the direction you hold, once per jump, refilled when you land or touch an orb. Every world has 12 levels: new hazards arrive one or two levels at a time and level 12 is a boss fight. A secret exit hidden in one level of each world opens a hidden 13th level. Each level holds three gems and one hidden token, and the timer runs the whole level: beat the gold, silver or bronze time for a medal. Clearing world 1 opens hard mode, where each level keeps a single beacon. The daily level is stitched from one world's rooms and is the same for every player that day.

Features
Five worlds, 60 levels plus 5 hidden
Each world adds a new move: wall jumps in world 2 and a dash in world 3, with new hazards arriving one or two levels at a time and a boss fight closing each world.
Wall jumps and a dash
Hold towards a wall to slide down it and jump to kick off; the dash sends you in a quick burst once per jump, refilled when you land or touch an orb.
Three gems and a medal time per level
Each level hides three gems and one token, and beating the gold, silver or bronze time earns a medal.
Secret exits
One level in each world hides an exit to a 13th, hidden level.
Daily level
Stitched from one world's rooms and the same for every player that day.
Play on phone, desktop or gamepad
A left pad and a jump button on touch screens, arrow keys or A/D with Space on a keyboard, or a stick and buttons on a gamepad.
Tips
- Hold jump for a high jump and let go early for a short hop: short hops keep you under saws and ceilings.
- You can still jump for a moment after running off a ledge, and a jump pressed just before landing still happens, so aim for the edge rather than playing it safe.
- Cracked ledges fall a moment after you land, so keep moving across them and never wait on one.
- A stomp bounces you higher if you hold jump as you land, which reaches ledges a normal jump cannot.
- In world 3 and later the dash comes back only when you land or touch an orb: save it for the gap you cannot jump.
Frequently asked questions
How do the controls work in Lanthorn Platformer?
Run with the arrow keys or A and D, and jump with Space, Z or the up arrow; holding jump longer jumps higher, and holding down while jumping drops you through a thin ledge. World 2 adds a wall jump and world 3 adds a dash on X, J or Shift.
Is Lanthorn Platformer free to play?
Yes, all five worlds, the 65 levels and the daily level are free, with no account needed.
Does Lanthorn Platformer save my progress?
Yes, your levels, gems and medal times save on this device automatically. To keep the same progress on another phone or computer, use Sync devices and enter the code it gives you, no account needed.
Can I play Lanthorn Platformer on my phone?
Yes, a pad on the left runs and a button on the right jumps, and a gamepad works too if you connect one.
How do checkpoints work?
Each level has beacons; one touch of spikes, lava, a saw or a creature's side sends you back to the last beacon you lit, but the gems you already picked up stay collected.
How hard is Lanthorn Platformer?
New hazards and moves, like wall jumps and the dash, arrive world by world, and each world ends in a boss fight. Hard mode, unlocked by clearing world 1, gives each level only a single beacon instead of several.
