About Saltway Runner
The evening boat leaves when the sun touches the water, and the last parcels from the salt works still have to reach it. The quay is packed with market carts, drying banners and crates of the day's catch, and every stallholder you pass flicks you a coin for the trouble.
Run a harbour road at sunset across three lanes: swipe to dodge carts, jump crates, slide under banners and collect coins. A new road every run.
How to play Saltway Runner
The courier runs forward on their own and speeds up the further they get. Swipe left or right (or press the arrow keys or A and D) to change lanes, swipe up (up arrow, W or Space) to jump over low crates and sawhorses, and swipe down (down arrow or S) to slide under hanging banners. Carts, barrel stacks and runaway handcarts fill a whole lane: change lanes around them. Swiping down in the air drops you to the ground straight into a slide. Distance scores points on its own and coins add more; at 250, 600 and 1,000 m and at every milestone after that, the multiplier on everything you earn goes up by one. Dodging an obstacle by a hair gives bonus points. Pick-ups on the road give a magnet, a shield that absorbs one crash (it lasts 25 seconds if nothing hits you), double coins or a short dash straight through everything; the dash only turns up after 600 m. One crash ends the run; a banner across the road marks your best distance.

Features
Three-lane dodging
Swipe or use the keyboard to change lanes, jump low crates and sawhorses, or slide under hanging banners. A new road is generated every run.
Rising multiplier
The multiplier on distance, coins and near misses climbs by one at 250, 600 and 1,000 m and every milestone after, so a long run pays far more than a short one.
Power-ups
A magnet, a shield that absorbs one crash, double coins, or a short dash straight through everything; the dash only appears after 600 m.
Hard mode
Unlocks once you reach 1,000 m in a run and speeds the whole course up by 15%.
Daily run
Everyone runs the same road that day, so distance is a fair comparison.
Tips
- Change lanes early: a cart fills its lane, and moving into its side only knocks you back into the lane you are in.
- Swipe down while you are in the air to land at once and slide, which gets you under a banner that follows right after a crate.
- The coin trail always follows a line that gets through, so when a stretch looks packed, follow the coins.
- Runaway handcarts roll towards you, so they arrive sooner than parked carts at the same distance; leave their lane as soon as you see the wheels turning.
- The multiplier counts for distance, coins and near misses alike, so everything you earn after 1,000 m is worth four times what it was at the start.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get a longer run in Saltway?
Change lanes early since a cart or barrel stack fills its whole lane, and follow the coin trail through a packed stretch, since it always marks a path that gets through.
Is Saltway hard, and what does hard mode change?
Hard mode unlocks once you reach 1,000 m in a single run and speeds up the entire course by 15%, so lanes fill and empty faster.
How many lanes does Saltway have?
Three. Swipe or press the arrow keys to move between them, and jump or slide for obstacles that block a lane you're in rather than the whole road.
Does Saltway save my progress?
Your best distance and stats stay on this device. Use Sync devices to move them to a new phone or browser with a one-time code; there is no account.
Can I play Saltway on my phone?
Yes, it is built for swipes. Swipe left or right to change lanes, up to jump and down to slide.
Is there a daily run in Saltway?
Yes, everyone gets the same generated road that day, so distances are directly comparable.
