About Oriel Perspective Puzzle
A surveyor maps a city whose stairs only exist when you look at them from the right side. Every room has one gate, three amber shards and a way across that is hiding in plain sight.
Turn an isometric tower until two far ledges meet on screen, then walk the path. 36 hand-made rooms, sliding slabs, cranks, stones and a lantern friend.
How to play Oriel Perspective Puzzle
Drag sideways to turn the view in quarter steps, or use the turn buttons. When two ledges touch on screen, a line of light marks the seam: those tiles are joined, however far apart they really are. Tap a tile to walk there along everything that is joined; tap the gate to finish the room. Tiles hidden behind something cannot be walked. Later places add red slabs you drag along their rails, cranks that turn a whole piece, blue stones you pick up and set down beside you, cobalt plates that move cobalt pieces while someone stands on them, and a lantern companion who walks the same paths. Collect the three shards and stay within the turn count for all three stars.

Features
Paths made by perspective
Two ledges that touch on screen are joined, even when one is three blocks higher and four blocks away. Turn the view in quarter steps to make and break those joins.
36 hand-made rooms in six places
Chalk Steps, Salt Mill, Orchard Clock, Quarry Light, Bell Aqueduct and Night Observatory, six rooms each, every one built and checked to be solvable.
A new piece in every place
Sliding slabs you can ride, cranked turntables, stones you carry and set down, pressure plates, and a lantern companion who walks the same joins as you.
Three stars per room
Reach the gate, collect all three shards, and clear the room within its turn count. Stars and best scores are saved on your device.
Daily room and hard mode
Each day brings one room for everyone, sometimes mirrored. Hard mode, opened by clearing Chalk Steps, keeps the gate shut until every shard is collected.
Tips
- Before turning, look for a high ledge that sits just in front of a lower one: those are the pairs that can meet on screen.
- A seam only exists in the view that made it. Walk across first, then turn again; you keep your place in the world.
- A stone you set down stays at the height you stood at, so drop it where it will line up with a ledge in another view.
- Plates only hold while someone or a stone stays on them. Park the lantern on the plate before you cross.
- Undo is free and puts you back exactly where you were, including the view.
Frequently asked questions
Why can I walk between two blocks that are far apart?
In Oriel, what touches on screen is connected. When a turn of the view lines two ledges up, a glowing seam appears and the walker can cross it. Turn away and the seam is gone.
Why can't I walk to a tile I can see part of?
A tile whose centre is covered by something in front of it counts as hidden and cannot be walked. Turn the view to see it clearly.
What counts as a turn?
Every quarter turn of the view and every hand action: sliding a slab, turning a crank, picking up or setting down a stone. Walking is always free, and undo gives turns back.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Drag to turn the view, tap to walk, and drag slabs along their rails. Full screen and both phone orientations are supported.
Is my progress saved?
Cleared rooms, stars and best scores are saved on this device and can be moved to another device with the site's sync code.
