About Tuft Rescue
The tufts walk wherever their feet point, over cliffs, into tide pools and straight at thorns. Four places stand between them and their burrows: Fernbank, Tidewell, Kilnstone and Glowcap Hollow. Every hill they cut through comes back to them as the next bridge.
Guide a stream of walkers home through 24 hand-made levels. Assign diggers, blockers and climbers, and turn every bit of dug earth into bricks.
How to play Tuft Rescue
Walkers drop from a hatch and keep walking, turning only at walls. Pick a role on the toolbar, then tap a walker to give it that job. On a phone, press near a walker, slide until the ring sits on the one you want and lift; on a computer, click it, or press 1 to 8 to pick a role. Climbers scale walls and Floaters drift down from any height; both keep their skill. A Blocker stands still and turns the others back; give it Blocker again to let it walk on. Diggers dig straight down, Bashers tunnel ahead, Miners tunnel down at a slant, and steel stops all three. Builders lay a rising stair of up to 12 bricks, and they have no count of their own: every pixel of earth or old brick that any role removes goes into the brick store, and each brick a Builder lays comes out of it. Burst curls a walker up and clears a ring of earth around it; that walker is lost, but the crater fills the store. Water, thorns and long falls are fatal. Bring the number of walkers shown on the level card through the burrow door before the clock runs out. Pause still lets you give roles, and the speed button runs the level at 2x or 3x.

Features
24 levels in four places
Fernbank, Tidewell, Kilnstone and Glowcap Hollow each hold six levels. Each place brings new roles or hazards: water, steel plates, thorns and the Burst.
Eight roles to hand out
Climber, Floater, Blocker, Digger, Basher, Miner, Builder and Burst. Most levels give only a few of each, so every assignment counts.
Dug earth becomes bricks
Builders have no limit of their own. They lay exactly the earth the other roles remove, so a tunnel through one hill becomes the bridge over the next gap.
Stars, gems and hard mode
Clear a level for one star, save the full target for a second and find every gem for the third. Clearing Fernbank opens hard mode, which asks you to save more walkers.
Daily level and missions
A shared daily level is scored against everyone who played it that day, and 18 missions track walkers brought home, bricks laid and gems found.
Tips
- Read the brick counter before you build: a stair rises one pixel for every two it moves forward, and each brick needs six pixels of dug earth.
- Pause and give roles while time stands still; the ring shows which walker a tap would pick and turns red if that walker cannot take the role.
- A Builder that runs out of bricks walks on off the end of its stair, so give it another Builder before the last brick.
- Put a Blocker behind a walker who is still building, then give the Blocker its role again to send the crowd across once the bridge is done.
- A Burst walker curls up where it stands, so place it right against the wall you want opened.
Frequently asked questions
How do I pick the right walker on a phone?
Pick a role, then press near the walkers. A ring marks the walker that will get the role; slide your finger to move it and lift to assign. The ring turns red if that walker cannot take the role right now.
Why can I not choose a Builder?
Builders use bricks from the store, and the store starts empty on most levels. Dig, bash, mine or burst some earth first; every six pixels removed make one brick.
Can a Blocker move again?
Yes. Give the Blocker the Blocker role a second time and it walks on. Giving it another job, such as Digger, also sets it free.
What do the stars mean?
One star for clearing the level, a second for saving the higher target shown in hard mode, and a third when that run also finds every gem.
Is my progress saved?
Yes. Opened levels, stars and best scores stay on this device, and the site's device sync can move them to another one.
Is every level solvable?
Yes. Every level can be cleared with all three stars, and in hard mode, using only the roles it gives.
