About Mavren Maze Chase
Mavren is a lantern creature with two hinged metal jaws. It eats street lights and glows as it swallows them. When a bell rings, its jaws grow large enough to eat frightened wardens as it travels through five old districts.
Guide Mavren, a lantern creature with hinged metal jaws, through mazes. Eat street lights, glow as you swallow them, and outwit wardens.
How to play Mavren Maze Chase
Use the arrow keys, WASD, direction pad or a swipe anywhere on the maze to queue a turn. Mavren keeps moving until a wall blocks the way. Eat every street light to open the exit. Press Space or the bell button to spend a stored charge: Mavren's jaws grow, wardens flee and shutters open for seven seconds. You begin each night with one charge, can bank up to two, and find four more in the maze. Three hits end the night. On captain nights, eat every light and capture the captain twice, or three times on night 30, before reaching the exit. If every light is eaten and you run out of charges during a captain fight, return to the bell forge at the starting square for a recharge.

Features
Thirty nights
Explore 30 nights across five districts, with new maze routes, stronger patrols and new hazards as you progress.
Five districts, new hazards
Meet side tunnels in the Canal Galleries, timed shutters in the Ironworks, faster freight belts in the Freight Yard, then all three together in the Bell Quarter.
Choose when to ring
Start with one bell charge, find four pickups and bank up to two. A ring enlarges Mavren's jaws, frightens wardens and opens shutters for seven seconds.
Three-star clears
Escape each night for a star. Find all three brass tokens for another, or finish without a hit within the night par for the third.
Captain nights
A captain appears every sixth night and needs two captures. The final captain needs three; clear the lights and finish the fight before taking the exit.
Retry and daily runs
Retry the same maze and keep your checkpoint after each clear. Take on a daily night or choose Hard mode for faster wardens.
Tips
- Queue your next turn before reaching a junction; Mavren keeps going straight when the turn is blocked.
- Save a bell charge for a tight crossing, or ring it near several wardens to make them vulnerable and build a capture chain.
- Eat all the lights before heading for the exit; on captain nights, the exit also waits for every required capture.
- Take all three brass tokens for an extra star, but use the safer route if a hitless clear matters more.
- On a freight belt, queue a perpendicular turn early so you can leave at the next junction.
Frequently asked questions
How do I open the exit?
Eat every street light. On captain nights, capture the captain the required number of times as well; then the exit can be used.
What does the bell do?
Spend one stored charge to enlarge Mavren's jaws, frighten wardens and open shutters for seven seconds. You start with one charge, can hold two, and can collect four more during a night. While wardens are frightened, Mavren can eat them. After every light is eaten, an empty bell bank can be recharged at the starting forge during a captain fight.
How many hits can I take?
You begin a night with three lives. A hit costs one life, and losing all three ends that night.
How do I earn all three stars?
Escape the night for one star. Collect all three brass tokens for a second, and earn the third by taking no hits and finishing within that night's par.
Can I retry the same maze?
Yes. Retry restores the same maze, and each cleared night becomes your next starting checkpoint.
Can I play Mavren on a phone?
Yes. Swipe anywhere on the maze or use the on-screen direction pad and bell button.
